How to leave your BOO HOO’s behind

Bonjour My Royal Friends!

I’m Princess Diane Von Brainisfried and it’s a joy to welcome you into my kingdom where positivity “rules”…. and humor abounds. Here, I share tips and secrets for living your royally happy, radically fulfilled, richly meaningful life!

A special welcome today to my new friends who recently attended my seminars on selections from my forthcoming book, Bonjour Breast Cancer, I’m Still Smiling. You know who you are!  I promised to keep you updated on exciting news and progress on my book… and you can now receive periodic updates for living your royally happy life, with a few ha ha’s sprinkled in for good measure!

Today for fun because it’s Halloween, I’d like to talk to you about the word BOO!  Or actually, the act of undoing your BOO HOO that is!

We all do it. Feel sorry for ourselves when comparatively little stuff doesn’t go our way.

I call them my Palace Pop Up Pity Parties. I’m not talking about major suckamundo days where stuff is really life-threatening or life-altering. Been there done that. You can find help for that when my book comes out!

No, that’s the major leagues. Today I’m talking about stub-your-toe decibel days.  You know, bad hair kind of days when even the tiara doesn’t help. Or cat’s out of the bag kind of days, when  your precious Puss in Boots jumps on the table and eats the family’s lobster dinner. (That actually happened to my mother!) Or pressure cooker days at work where you feel like you want to explode.  Or days when the pressure cooker literally explodes –and there’s a veritable Jackson Pollock of sauce on your (vaulted) ceiling!

Here’s one great thing about living through breast cancer…it’s so much easier to gain perspective! And that’s what I want to send as the “treat” part of trick-or-treat on this lovely Halloween day. Make perspective KING of your life! When annoyances and pain in the butt stuff happens, sure…let yourself have a little boo-hoo hoo-ing! You are human after all. Even if you are walking around like Buffy the Vampire tonight.

But here’s the key: Put a limit on the time you spend at your Palace Pop Up Pity Party. Set the timer on your oven. Use an egg timer.  Use your snooze alarm. You choose the amount of time. Fifteen minutes. One hour. Three hours. But when that buzzer goes off or that sand runs out, put that smile back on your face. I don’t care if you have to stand on your head to turn that frown upside down, just do it. I’m ordering you.

Everything in life has relativity to it. Those of you at the seminar might remember what my dad said about the guy who complained about not having any shoes… until he saw the guy without any feet!

Use that to work in your favor. Make a fact check. Get down to basics if you have to. Are you breathing? Are you on this side of the ground? If yes…things are looking up! Why, I’d say…things are absolutely BOO-tiful!!!

Happy and safe trick or treating!
